About the Role We are currently seeking an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Maxillofacial Registrar to join our Otolaryngology Maxillofacial department at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldier's Memorial Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the daily care of inpatients under the supervision of a designated consultant. You will assess and treat patients with acute surgical needs, including those referred for admission on acute days and those previously cared for by our team who are being re-admitted. While this position does not offer formal training accreditation, we are committed to providing a hands-on learning experience that matches or exceeds that of accredited roles, ensuring you are well-prepared for future formal training opportunities. About the Team, Service, and Location Joining our team means working alongside a Maxillofacial Consultant, five ENT Consultants, and a dedicated group of six specialty nurses, two ENT Registrars, and one House Officer. Our close-knit team is well-equipped and collaborates effectively to provide a comprehensive mix of Otology, Rhinology, and Head and Neck surgery, including a significant volume of skin cancer surgery. Hawke's Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary-level public hospital located in Hastings, serving a population of over 180,000 individuals. We provide both acute and elective care across various medical and surgical specialties, including pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology. Although we do not perform cardiothoracic or neurosurgery, we are supported by a robust regional ICU team to ensure comprehensive care for our diverse patient population. For additional information about living and working in Hawke's Bay, please visit our website. About You We are looking for a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at the PGY3 level or above. While previous experience in ENT is desirable, it is not a requirement. You should be registered or eligible for general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
