    About the Company At Harbour Cancer & Wellness, we are a leading oncology and clinical trials center, committed to delivering holistic, evidence-based care to individuals affected by cancer. About the Role We are currently seeking a warm, organized, and proactive Medical Receptionist to join our team at our Newmarket and Wairau clinics. This is a permanent part-time position, requiring 28 hours per week, scheduled from Monday to Thursday. The hours will be rostered between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM, with extended hours until 8:00 PM on Wednesdays. What You'll Do In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience. Your key responsibilities will include: - Providing a personalized welcome to patients, families, staff, and visitors with empathy and professionalism. - Ensuring accurate documentation and communication regarding patient movements, queries, clinic lists, and messages. - Maintaining accurate patient charts and processing referrals, results, and correspondence. - Facilitating clear, concise, and professional communication within our team and with external health professionals. - Handling payments and liaising with the accounts team. - Supporting our doctors and clinical staff with timely administrative assistance. - Performing general office duties, such as scanning, filing, and managing supplies. - Promoting and upholding the culture and tone of Harbour Cancer & Wellness in every interaction. What You'll Bring We are looking for an individual who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment and genuinely cares about the patient journey. The ideal candidate will possess: - Previous experience in medical reception or administration. - A warm and approachable demeanor. - Strong multitasking and time management skills. - High attention to detail and a process-driven approach. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. - A commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. - A collaborative attitude and a willingness to support the wider team. - The ability to work effectively within a team environment and contribute positively to team communication.
