About the Role
We are looking for experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Clinical Coders at Level 3 or above to join our team at Waitemata District on a casual, on-call basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team that values clinical expertise and digital innovation. Our team operates on a hybrid roster, allowing for full remote working options for the right candidate. This position offers flexibility and a chance to contribute to the efficient operation of our health services, directly impacting healthcare quality, funding, and planning.
About Us
Our team of Clinical Coders at Waitemata is a dedicated group of professionals working within secure digital health records systems and coding tools. We are at the forefront of digital innovation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and national compliance in our coding practices.
Our coders play a vital role in data-driven healthcare, contributing to quality improvement, health analytics, and future-focused service planning. To enhance responsiveness and meet regional KPIs, we have established an in-house Rapid Response Clinical Coding Team that works to reduce delays in coding turnaround.
Health New Zealand Waitemata serves approximately 650,000 residents in the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas, making it the largest population of any district health area.
