    About the Company The Open Home Foundation (OHF) is a Christian Community Response organization dedicated to ensuring that every child and young person has the opportunity to grow up in a secure and loving family environment. Our commitment is to provide care that enriches their lives and supports their well-being throughout their journey. About the Role We are expanding our team and are seeking a Social Worker to join our Wellington Service Centre. This role is focused on working closely with tamariki, rangatahi, whanau, and the broader community. We are looking for someone who shares our vision and can engage in a strengths-based and culturally appropriate manner that promotes family well-being and supports whanau mauri ora. This is a fixed-term, part-time position, requiring 25 hours per week, with the fixed term concluding on December 31, 2025. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience: - A Social Work Qualification with a minimum of three years of experience. - Registration with the Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) or eligibility for registration. - Knowledge and experience in care and protection social work. - A strong understanding of The Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 and its Family Court processes. - An in-depth understanding of the special relationship between Māori and Tauiwi, along with strong empathy for our organization’s mission and values. - At least two years of experience in care and protection social work and trauma-informed practice, particularly in supporting caregivers of tamariki and rangatahi. - A valid full New Zealand driver’s license. - A commitment to the Christian principles that guide the Open Home Foundation. Benefits The salary for this position ranges from $68,038 to $102,000 per annum, depending on experience.
