About the Role
We are currently offering two 32-hour positions in Lower Hutt. When applying, please indicate the specific shift for which you are applying:
Role 1: Friday to Monday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Role 2: Friday to Monday, 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM
In this role, you will report to the Team Coach as part of our Acute Alternative Hutt Day Service. This service provides an alternative care option to traditional hospital settings for individuals experiencing mental distress and requiring high levels of mental health support.
Your primary responsibility will be to create an exemplary activity wellbeing program aimed at helping tangata whai ora achieve physical health equity and positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advocating for and supporting individuals to thrive and maintain their well-being.
- Connecting clients with resources that aid in their journey towards living well and building resilience.
- Helping individuals forge connections within their communities and develop meaningful relationships.
- Promoting positive change for improved quality of life.
- Providing medication support to our clients.
Requirements
We welcome applications from individuals who possess a caring nature and adopt a recovery and strengths-focused approach to their work.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a current full New Zealand driver's license or be able to obtain one within two months of starting.
- Possess a current first aid certificate or be willing to acquire one.
- Hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or an equivalent qualification. For equivalency checks, please visit the Ministry of Health's website.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively collaborate with peers from diverse cultures and backgrounds, particularly within Māori and Pasifika communities and their whānau.
