About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in stepping into a medical registrar position or continuing their medical registrar journey. At Rotorua Hospital, you will experience a supportive environment alongside a team of consultants, house officers, medical students, and nursing staff, all dedicated to providing high-quality general and acute medical care.
About the Location
Our department consists of physicians in General Medicine with diverse sub-specialty interests, including Cardiology, Endocrinology, and Infectious Diseases. We also have an outpatient team, specialist nurses, and visiting sub-specialists. Our hospital is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for both Basic and Advanced Trainees.
Rotorua is located in the central North Island of New Zealand, approximately 230 kilometers (143 miles) southeast of Auckland, and Taupo is about 80 kilometers (50 miles) south of Rotorua. The Lakes region is renowned for its geothermal wonders and scenic lakes, including Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. This area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, offering hiking, mountain biking, and water sports, as well as opportunities to delve into traditional Māori culture.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or eligibility for general or provisional general registration. You can verify your eligibility for registration by visiting the MCNZ website.
- A minimum of two years of post-qualification experience.
- A strong interest in providing acute and general medical care to our community.
