About the Role
We are currently seeking General Medicine Registrars to join our team at Rotorua Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to step into a medical registrar position or continue their journey as a registrar. At Rotorua Hospital, you will benefit from working in a smaller, collegial environment where you will experience both general and acute medicine alongside a supportive team of consultants, house officers, medical students, and nursing staff.
About the Location
Our department consists of physicians in General Medicine with a variety of subspecialty interests, including Cardiology, Endocrinology, and Infectious Diseases. We also have an outpatient team, specialist nurses, and visiting subspecialists. Our training program is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for both Basic and Advanced Trainees.
Lakes is located in the central North Island of New Zealand, with Rotorua situated approximately 230 kilometers southeast of Auckland and Taupo located about 80 kilometers south of Rotorua. This region is renowned for its geothermal wonders and scenic lakes, including Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. Rotorua and Taupo offer a plethora of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and water sports, as well as opportunities to immerse yourself in traditional Maori culture.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Registration or eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. For eligibility details, please visit the Council's website.
- A minimum of two years of post-qualification experience.
- A keen interest in providing acute and general medical care to our community.
