Description
About the Company
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare that serves all New Zealanders, grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve, and we welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds, including Māori, Pacific, disabled, and rainbow communities.
About the Role
We are seeking Paediatric Senior House Officers to join our team at Rotorua Hospital, specifically in our recently refurbished Children's unit. This modern facility offers the opportunity to work in a regional hospital while gaining experience in acute general paediatric and neonatal medicine.
As part of our supportive team, you will collaborate with consultants, senior registrars, junior registrars, medical students, and nursing staff. Rotorua Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) is the only level 2 unit in the region, staffed with a neonatal nurse practitioner who brings extensive experience and is a valuable resource for our junior staff. This position offers a roster that allows you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Rotorua, characterized by longer summers and shorter winters.
About the Location
Our paediatric department consists of a diverse group of paediatricians with various sub-specialty interests, including neonatal care, community paediatrics, and mental health. We are supported by a dedicated team of specialist nurses and visiting sub-specialists. A significant portion of the paediatric population we serve consists of Māori children and their whānau, many from low socioeconomic backgrounds with complex health needs.
