About the Role
As a Senior House Officer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will benefit from working in a regional hospital environment where you can gain valuable procedural experience. You will be part of a supportive team, including consultants, senior registrars, junior registrars, medical students, and nursing staff.
The structure of your roster will enable you to fully enjoy the attractions of Rotorua, characterized by longer summers and shorter winters.
About the Location
The Lakes Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department serves a population of approximately 116,000 people and is located within Rotorua Hospital. We provide secondary-level specialties, with tertiary care available at Waikato Hospital.
Rotorua, located in the central North Island of New Zealand, is approximately 230 kilometers southeast of Auckland and about 80 kilometers south of Taupo. The region is known for its geothermal wonders and scenic lakes, including Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. Rotorua and Taupo are popular destinations for hiking, mountain biking, and water sports. The area also offers rich cultural experiences, allowing you to learn more about Māori culture.

About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or eligibility for general or provisional general registration. You can check your eligibility by visiting the MCNZ website.
- A minimum of two years of post-qualification experience.
- A strong interest in providing acute and general medical care to our community.
