About the Role
As a specialist anaesthetist, you will provide comprehensive services that include acute pain management, birthing support, MRI assistance, and operating within our Pre-Assessment Clinic. You will also respond to trauma calls and be involved in the clinical management of our Intensive Care Unit, which has seven beds. Our Anaesthetic Service offers elective day stay services and operates a Pre-Admission clinic at Taupo Hospital on a weekly basis.
About the Team/Service/Location
You will join a dynamic team at Rotorua Hospital, a busy district hospital that covers a wide range of regional specialties. Our Surgical Services department runs one acute and four elective theatres daily. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality anaesthetic care, and we encourage you to learn more about our Anaesthetics Department by exploring the ANZCA bulletin available from page 50. About You
We are looking for candidates who have completed their specialist training, preferably with a Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA). Applicants should be eligible for provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Experience in Intensive Care Medicine is highly desirable, and while formal qualifications in ICU are attractive, they are not mandatory. We are interested in discussing other areas of clinical interest you may have.
