Maintenance Operator (Supervisor Role)

About the Role We are currently looking for a highly organized and hands-on Maintenance Operator at the supervisory level to lead the planning and coordination of all maintenance activities at a large-scale industrial site in Auckland. This role is perfect for someone with a trade background and experience in preventative maintenance, who is also focused on continuous improvement and safety. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across the site. You will support both long- and short-term maintenance planning and minor capital works, ensuring that maintenance is aligned with production schedules and operational needs. Additionally, you will monitor and manage maintenance tasks using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably MEX. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with operations and contractors to achieve safe and efficient outcomes. Leading maintenance documentation, safety risk assessments, and compliance reporting will also be part of your responsibilities. Requirements We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: - Trade certification or engineering qualification in mechanical, electrical, or a similar field. - Strong maintenance planning experience, ideally in manufacturing or heavy industry. - Experience with CMMS systems (MEX preferred) and strong general IT skills. - A valid forklift license, EWP license, and confined space training are preferred. - Proven ability to lead safety-first practices and collaborate effectively across teams. - Strong attention to detail, excellent coordination skills, and a proactive approach.
