Our Disability Support Services embody our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live fulfilling lives, access equal opportunities, and pursue their ambitions. We take pride in our teams, recognizing that they are our greatest asset, and we are dedicated to hiring and training the best professionals in the field.
About the Role
We are currently seeking permanent, part-time Support Workers to join our Intensive Support Services team in Lower Hutt. In this dynamic and diverse role, you will support individuals with various aspects of daily life, helping them engage in activities they enjoy, such as swimming, personal care, meal preparation, household management, and the development of life skills. The responsibilities are varied and can change from day to day.
As a Support Worker, you will be part of a team that provides 24/7 support, working shifts or specific rosters, with the potential for additional sleepover payments in certain schedules.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and possess qualities such as kindness and understanding. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly with individuals with disabilities and those facing challenges.
Ideal candidates will have the initiative to encourage individuals to achieve their goals, along with an energetic and outgoing personality. It is essential to be respectful of others' perspectives and lifestyles, which may differ from your own. Flexibility is key, as you will need to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are vital in this role, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
Benefits
In return for your dedication, we offer competitive pay rates ranging from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour, along with a variety of shift options. You will have the opportunity to earn while you learn through free training towards NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualifications. Additionally, we provide access to an Employee Assistance Program for health and wellbeing support whenever you need it.
We also have a 'Refer a Friend' bonus program, encouraging you to bring like-minded individuals into our supportive community.
If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, we invite you to consider joining our team.
