About the Role
We are currently seeking energetic and motivated individuals to join our team as permanent, full-time Support Workers in our Intensive Support Services located in Lower Hutt. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting rangatahi (youth) and tamariki (children) in achieving greater independence within their community.
Our Support Workers provide 24/7 coverage and are responsible for a variety of tasks, including personal care, community outings, and other activities of daily living. Your work will enable the individuals we support to thrive and live as independently as possible.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A passion for supporting rangatahi and tamariki in learning new skills and achieving their goals.
- Prior experience in providing support to individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities, particularly in daily living activities.
- Ideally, experience working with children or youth.
- A full driver’s license and the ability to safely transport passengers in our disability vans (training will be provided).
- Initiative and a proactive attitude to encourage individuals to strive for their goals, along with an outgoing and creative mindset.
- Respect and openness to different perspectives, as well as the flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends.
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as our clients come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
