About the Role
We are currently seeking permanent, full-time Support Workers to provide leave cover for our Christchurch Residential Services. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with various aspects of daily life. Your responsibilities will include assisting with activities such as swimming, personal care, meal support, household management, and teaching essential life skills. The role is dynamic and diverse, and you will be part of a dedicated team providing 24/7 support, with the possibility of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and possess a kind and understanding demeanor. While previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly with disabilities and challenging behaviors, it is not mandatory. A full driver's license is essential for this role.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate initiative, energy, and an ability to think creatively to help individuals achieve their goals. Respect for diverse lifestyles and perspectives is paramount, as our clients come from a variety of backgrounds with differing needs and interests. Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends, is required, along with a strong sense of empathy, respect, and cultural awareness.
