About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Café Manager who will have full accountability for the day-to-day performance of our café. In this role, you will lead from the floor, establish clear service and operational standards, and ensure that the café operates efficiently both front and back of house.
Your responsibilities will include managing labor, controlling costs, maintaining compliance, and leading a large team in a busy, customer-facing environment. This position is ideal for an experienced operator who can effectively balance service quality with commercial results in a high-volume setting.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should bring the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience managing a high-volume café, with full accountability for front and back of house operations; franchise experience is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in café management, including oversight of revenue, costs, and labor.
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience in leading and developing teams of 15 or more staff members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage profit and loss (P&L), control costs, and support revenue growth.
- A solid understanding of Food Control Plans, Health and Safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong operational skills in areas such as rostering, stock control, supplier management, and systems.
- A service-focused mindset, capable of balancing excellent customer experience with operational efficiency.
- A Duty Manager License (LCQ) and knowledge of the Liquor Act are advantageous.
