About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Community Support Worker who is resilient, energetic, and conscientious. In this role, you will provide care and companionship to a gentleman who values incorporating Christian faith into his daily life. It is essential that you are comfortable engaging in Christian faith-based prayer with the service user.
Support work is more than just a job; it is a rewarding opportunity to provide invaluable support, guided by the needs of the individuals we assist. You will play a crucial role in helping clients live their best lives.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing spiritual support through prayer in a Christian faith-based environment
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering and bathing
- Assisting with household management and meal preparation
- Supporting exercise programs
- Facilitating access to the community
- Providing bowel, bladder, and catheter care
- Assisting with moving and handling, including hoists and manual transfers
- Offering medication support

Employment Type: Part-Time
We offer a variety of employment opportunities, including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process. Days of work will involve rotating rosters, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Your preferred hours can be discussed during the recruitment process. The duration of hours may vary based on the specific needs of those we support.
About You
We are seeking a compassionate and empathetic individual who values faith-based care and recognizes the importance of spirituality in promoting well-being. You should possess a calm yet confident demeanor, demonstrating resilience in understanding the challenges faced by our service users. The role of a support worker comes with responsibilities that can be both challenging and fulfilling, and it is highly rewarding to contribute to enabling someone to thrive in the community.
Candidate Pre-Requisites:
- Previous experience in healthcare is advantageous; however, candidates looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided).
- Access to your own vehicle and the ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is required).
- Flexibility to travel and work on a rotating roster.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand is essential.
Benefits
We offer a competitive pay band of $24.13 - $30.03 per hour, based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017, which assesses hourly pay rates according to the equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications.
