About the Role
We are currently seeking permanent, full-time Support Workers to join our Intensive Support Services team in Kapiti.
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting rangatahi and tamariki to live as independently as possible within their community. You will work as part of a team, providing 24/7 coverage through various shifts or specific rosters. Your responsibilities will include aiding with personal care, facilitating community outings, promoting integration, and supporting other aspects of daily living. Your efforts will empower the individuals we support to achieve greater independence.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualities:
- A strong desire to support rangatahi and tamariki in learning new skills and achieving personal outcomes.
- Prior experience in supporting others with daily living activities, ideally with individuals who have intellectual or physical disabilities.
- Experience working with children or youth is preferred.
- A full driver’s license and the confidence to transport passengers safely in our disability vans (training will be provided).
- An energetic and outgoing personality with the initiative to encourage individuals to pursue their goals.
- Respect for diverse perspectives and lifestyles, recognizing that they may differ from your own.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends.
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
