About the Company
At NZCL, we are committed to supporting individuals with disabilities throughout New Zealand. Our Disability Support Services are rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to live life to the fullest, have equal opportunities, and pursue their ambitions. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can build confidence, learn new skills, and form meaningful connections within their communities. Our dedicated teams are our most valuable asset, and we prioritize hiring and training the best talent available.
About the Role
We are currently seeking Casual Support Workers to join our team and assist individuals in our Kapiti Residential Services. In this dynamic and varied role, you will support people with numerous aspects of their daily lives, helping them engage in activities they enjoy, such as swimming, personal care, meal preparation, household management, and life skills development. The role offers the opportunity to work in shifts or on specific rosters, providing 24/7 support, with the potential for additional sleepover payments in certain schedules.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others, demonstrating kindness and understanding in their interactions. While previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, especially with disabilities and challenging behaviors, it is not mandatory. A full driver's license is essential for this position.
Ideal candidates will have the initiative to encourage individuals to achieve their goals, possess an energetic and outgoing personality, and think creatively to solve problems. It is important to respect the diverse perspectives and lifestyles of the individuals we support, as they come from various backgrounds with unique needs and interests. Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends, is also required.
Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are crucial attributes for this role, as we value the diverse backgrounds and aspirations of those we support.
Benefits
As a member of our team, you will receive competitive pay rates ranging from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour, along with a variety of shifts. We offer opportunities to earn while you learn through free training towards NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualifications. Additionally, our Employee Assistance Program is available to support your health and wellbeing whenever needed. We also provide a "Refer a Friend" bonus for successful referrals.
If you are passionate about supporting individuals and are interested in joining our team, we encourage you to apply.
