About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Renal Physician to join our team to cover parental leave. Our renal service provides comprehensive management for both acute and chronic renal diseases across most of the central region of New Zealand, including the Capital and Coast Hutt Valley Districts, as well as the Wairarapa District. We also offer home dialysis services to the Nelson and Marlborough Districts.
Our services encompass outpatient consultations, inpatient care, renal transplant services, and thorough pre-dialysis support. We place a strong emphasis on home-based dialysis, both peritoneal and haemodialysis, with satellite centers located at Kenepuru and Hutt Valley. The in-centre dialysis unit at Wellington Regional Hospital addresses the growing demand for assisted haemodialysis, and we conduct outpatient clinics at Wellington, Hutt, Kenepuru, and Kapiti hospitals.

The Capital, Coast, and Hutt Valley Renal Services team comprises a dynamic and diverse group of professionals who work collaboratively in a collegial environment. Our focus is on a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, and we are committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Located centrally in Wellington, the Capital, Coast, and Hutt Valley district employs over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the largest employers in the Wellington region. Our operations include three hospitals: Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hutt Valley Hospital, and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua, along with the Kapiti Health Centre in Paraparaumu.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are vocationally registered in Internal Medicine (Renal) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ), hold an FRACP or an equivalent qualification, and are able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ. You should have the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and consistently provide high standards of medical care, along with relevant experience and training.
