About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Anaesthetist to join our team at Wairarapa Hospital. You will be one of five Anaesthetists providing comprehensive anaesthetic services for both public and private patients in the Wairarapa region. Additionally, you will offer support to the hospital's High Dependency Unit. This role includes a full-time position with an on-call requirement of 1 in 5. To be considered, applicants must be eligible for Vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. About the Team/Service Joining Wairarapa Hospital means becoming part of an enthusiastic and committed team of healthcare professionals. Wairarapa Hospital serves a population of approximately 50,000, offering 24-hour acute and elective care across various specialties, including general and orthopaedic surgery, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, and paediatrics. Our services include both public and private theatre sessions, covering a range of procedures. We are committed to clinical excellence and encourage our Senior Medical Staff to participate in clinical audits and peer reviews to maintain high standards in patient care. About You The ideal candidate will be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligible for registration. You should also hold a higher qualification relevant to the specialty recognized by the Medical Council of New Zealand for specialist registration.
