About the Role
We are excited to invite you to explore a career with the Central Regional Forensic Service, a center of forensic excellence located in the stunning lower and east North Island of New Zealand. The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) operates across two districts - Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley and Wairarapa. We provide local, regional, and national services, including care for adults and youth through various programs. Our Central Regional Forensic Service delivers a comprehensive range of services, including adult inpatient care, prison and community services, a national Youth Forensic service, and the newly established national Fixated Threat Assessment Centre. Our dedicated teams provide mental health care within local and regional prisons and youth justice facilities, as well as court liaison services for adult and youth courts.
Requirements
We are seeking a candidate who is vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or holds an equivalent qualification that qualifies for registration with MCNZ. While specialty training in Forensic Psychiatry is preferred, we welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds in psychiatry.
