About the Role
We are seeking a Charge Nurse for a dynamic general practice that is well-supported and thriving. In this role, you will lead a dedicated nursing team of 7-10 professionals in a multidisciplinary setting. This position has become available due to the previous Charge Nurse's promotion to a Regional Leadership role, highlighting our practice's strong culture of growth and internal advancement.
This hands-on leadership opportunity encompasses a variety of clinical and operational responsibilities, including:
- Providing guidance and mentorship to the nursing and healthcare support team
- Collaborating with 9-15 General Practitioners and a regional leadership network
- Driving nurse-led clinics and championing quality improvement initiatives
- Coordinating service delivery to align with equity and access targets
- Contributing to ongoing service innovation and health system enhancements
You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, managing patient flow, workforce planning, maintaining clinical standards, and supporting the professional development of your team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- New Zealand Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
- At least 2 years of leadership or team management experience
- Active certifications in vaccination and smear taking
- Strong understanding of population and public health frameworks
- Experience in delivering nurse-led services in women's health or general practice
- Proficiency in Medtech Evolution or similar practice management systems
- A background in cervical screening, immunization leadership, or pursuing RN prescribing in community health is a distinct advantage
