About the Role
In this leadership position, you will be responsible for managing the execution of our delivery services operation with a strong emphasis on customer service and cost efficiency. Your primary duties will include ensuring the timely dispatch and delivery of our products to customers while prioritizing safety and optimizing logistics and transportation functions.
Creating a strong team culture based on collaboration and striving for excellence is critical in this role. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining effective communication between our team of drivers to ensure successful execution of delivery targets.
- Championing our Health, Safety, and Environmental practices across the team.
- Managing the wellbeing of our fleet of vehicles, including overseeing planned and unplanned maintenance as well as implementing daily preventative tasks to reduce and manage incident damage costs.
- Delivering an outstanding end-to-end delivery service by effectively managing branch and customer engagement and expectations.
This is a permanent, full-time position offering 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, based in the Christchurch region.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in transport logistics and distribution.
- Excellent analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, particularly in the distribution of information across various units within and outside the organization.
- Proficiency in presenting ideas in a persuasive, clear, and formal manner, both in written and verbal formats.
- Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities.
- Relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
- An energetic and enthusiastic approach.
We are looking for a service-driven and solution-oriented individual who can ensure efficient delivery processes. Your ability to build strong and enduring relationships will be essential in partnering with the branches to communicate effectively and add value at all touchpoints. Your experience in supply chain, logistics, or a similar field, along with your capacity to influence and persuade through effective communication, will contribute to your success in this role.
