About the Role
We are currently seeking full-time Construction Technicians to join our team. These permanent positions will be deployed to various construction sites throughout New Zealand, based on project demand. We offer a competitive pay range starting at $26.00 per hour, with a maximum of $40.00 per hour, and guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week. All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that align with your skills and capabilities. Your main duties will include:
- Complying with all aspects of contracts and projects while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures at elevated levels.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and installing hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Repairing cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard using appropriate materials and tools.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms.
- General labouring and cleaning construction sites as directed by management.
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Requirements
The ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferred, but not mandatory.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic are essential.
- A commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry.
- A sound understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Experience in fabricating and installing custom joinery and cabinetry.
- Proficiency in general framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting, and architraves.
- Precision in measuring and cutting materials.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Maintenance of a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Willingness to collaborate with other trades as needed.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

While this role is listed in Marlborough, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand. This includes the North Island (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, and Wellington) and the South Island (Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland).
