About the Role We are seeking an Allied Health Assistant to join our dedicated team on a fixed-term basis, covering maternity leave. This full-time position requires a commitment of 80 hours per fortnight. In this dynamic role, you will engage with patients in our acute medical wards, assisting them with safe movement, exercise, and promoting independence in their recovery journey. While prior experience in a similar capacity is beneficial, we value a strong willingness to learn and a commitment to embodying our organizational values in your daily work. About the Team/Service/Location Our Allied Health Therapies team is a collaborative, patient-focused group that prides itself on delivering effective and compassionate care. Located at the Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings, we emphasize teamwork and support professional development within a multidisciplinary environment. About You To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: - A Level 4 Health and Disability Qualification or a commitment to completing one within two years - Experience in the health or disability sector, particularly with rehabilitation equipment, is desirable - Confidence in working independently in patients' homes, as well as within a team setting - Effective communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients and their families Working at Health New Zealand At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we are dedicated to providing excellent healthcare to all New Zealanders.
