About the Role We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a registered Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as the Professional Lead for the Speech Language Therapy service. This is a fixed-term, part-time position covering six months of parental leave, requiring a commitment of 16 hours per fortnight (0.2 FTE). In this role, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership across our inpatient, community, and paediatric services within Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Maui. Your responsibilities will include: - Supporting the development and delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based practices. - Providing clinical assurance and maintaining high professional standards. - Collaborating with operational leaders to ensure equitable outcomes and high-quality care. - Offering expert advice on workforce priorities, service design, and care pathways. As the Professional Lead, you will play a vital role in promoting excellence in practice and advocating for the importance of Speech Language Therapy within our services. About the Team/Service/Location You will be joining a dedicated team comprised of Professional Leaders, Team Leaders, Allied Health Directors, and operational managers. About You We are looking for a New Zealand-registered Speech Language Therapist with extensive clinical experience and demonstrated leadership capabilities. You should be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and a committed team player with a dedication to quality, equity, and continuous improvement. To succeed in this role, you will need: - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). - A current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate. - At least six years of experience in a healthcare or similar setting. - Proven leadership and mentoring experience. - A solid understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in practice.
