About the Role
We are currently looking for a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our Radiology team. This full-time position involves working across all our radiology satellite sites, with your primary base in the Puawananga/Orthopaedic outpatient x-ray rooms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic healthcare team focused on delivering high-quality patient care and efficient radiology services.
In this position, you will manage the Radiology Scheduling System (RIS), monitor ordered (not yet scheduled) work lists, schedule outpatient appointments, and track patient arrivals. You will also be essential in managing patient workflow, preparing patients for imaging, assisting those with limited mobility, restocking equipment and linen, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
You will collaborate closely with Medical Imaging Technologists (Radiographers) and communicate with referring teams, clinics, and the main radiology department to ensure seamless service delivery.

The Radiology Department at Hawke's Bay Hospital offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services, including general X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy. Our team is comprised of radiologists, medical imaging technologists, nurses, and health care assistants who work together in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates will possess:
- Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or in a similar role (preferred but not essential)
- A genuine interest in patient care and healthcare services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A strong commitment to infection control and health and safety practices
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn on the job
