    About the Company Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and aims to build a health system that serves all New Zealanders. Within Health NZ Waitaha Canterbury, our Gastroenterology Department is dedicated to providing comprehensive secondary and tertiary inpatient and outpatient services throughout the South Island. Our department manages the Endoscopy Day ward and the FIT programme for Canterbury, and we work closely with the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP). About the Role We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Clinical Administrator to join our Gastroenterology Department. This full-time position involves working 40 hours per week and is perfect for someone who thrives in a team environment and has a strong customer-centric approach. In this role, you will provide administrative support primarily through transcription, which involves typing clinical documents and medical letters from dictation. You will also play a key role in managing relationships within the department. As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement, this position is classified as National Band 3 / Profile 3. About You Essential qualifications and skills include: - Excellent keyboard skills, with a typing speed of 50 to 70 words per minute - Strong customer service skills, with a people-focused mindset - High level of written and verbal communication skills - Technical proficiency, with experience in data systems and the ability to quickly learn new applications - Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to solve problems effectively - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to achieving high levels of accuracy - Ability to meet deadlines and work independently - A collaborative team player - Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) - A perceptive and proactive approach to administrative tasks Desired qualifications and skills include: - Broad administrative experience in a health-related field - Awareness of diverse cultural backgrounds - Familiarity with medical terminology - Understanding of the public hospital system, including the patient management system Working at Health New Zealand At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare to the people of New Zealand.
