About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and respected nurse leader to join our team in a senior leadership position. This role involves providing strong, visible, professional, and operational leadership during a period of transformational change across our health system. You will report directly to the Southland site General Manager and the District Chief Nurse.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of promoting contemporary models of nursing practice while supporting both strategic and operational initiatives. Your focus will be on ensuring optimal patient and whanau outcomes. Collaborating closely with the wider interprofessional leadership team, you will drive clinical excellence and inspire our teams. Your passion for equitable, patient-centered care, along with your comprehensive understanding of healthcare systems, will be essential in leading and shaping the future of nursing at our Southland site, fostering strong relationships throughout the Southern district.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and operational nursing leadership and direction across the Southland site.
- Foster a patient and whanau-centered environment that recognizes the health continuum across the system.
- Champion the development of contemporary models of care and interprofessional practice in partnership with senior colleagues.
- Drive operational performance with a focus on quality, efficiency, safety, staffing, and patient flow.
- Lead and develop a high-performing senior nursing team in alignment with organizational values and priorities.
- Enhance professional nursing governance and contribute to excellence in practice, accountability, and professional conduct.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and promote a patient-centered approach.
- Represent nursing perspectives in governance, clinical, and management forums.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
- A Master's qualification or equivalent (or evidence of working towards completion).
- Extensive senior nursing leadership and management experience, with exemplary knowledge of clinical quality and best practices.
- A strong drive for excellence, resilience, and adaptability in the face of change.
- The ability to motivate and inspire team members towards a common vision.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, enabling effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
