Purapura Whetu Trust, Odyssey House Trust Christchurch, and Stepping Stone Trust have come together to create the Tupuranga Attendance and Engagement Service. Our mission is to enhance the educational engagement of tamariki and rangatahi, ensuring their attendance, participation, and achievement are prioritized for successful life outcomes.
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Practice Leader to join our collaborative team. In this full-time role, you will work Monday through Friday to support akonga and their whanau in overcoming barriers and providing effective options for school attendance and engagement.
Key responsibilities in this position include:
- Supporting a multidisciplinary team as they assist akonga and their whanau in addressing the challenges related to school attendance.
- Continuously improving practice systems, processes, and policies to enhance our impact.
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as the broader community.
- Contributing to monitoring and reporting efforts.
- Co-designing creative and innovative strategies with whanau to promote the educational achievement of akonga.
We are looking for culturally competent and passionate individuals to join our Tupuranga Attendance and Engagement Service.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience as a practice leader with a track record of developing people and programs to deliver impactful results.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with akonga, whanau, kura, and other stakeholders.
- Organizational skills to manage a caseload while providing support to the team.
- High levels of cultural responsiveness and a strong understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- A qualification in social work, teaching, youth work, or a related field.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver's license.
