    About the Company At Brackenridge, we are dedicated to providing mana-enhancing support to individuals across the Canterbury region. As a registered charity, we offer accommodation and daily living assistance to children, young people, and adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, and complex support needs. Our mission is to advocate for the rights and well-being of those we support, as well as their families and whānau. We believe in empowering individuals to achieve their goals, whether through tailored communication, positive behavior strategies, life skills development, community engagement, or employment opportunities. Our approach is centered on walking alongside individuals and their families, enabling them to live their lives according to their own aspirations. About the Role We are currently seeking Community Support Workers to join our team in providing in-home and community support. This part-time position is based in Ashburton and involves encouraging and empowering individuals to lead meaningful lives. If you have a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities, we would love to hear from you. In this role, you will assist young people in engaging in healthy activities such as gym workouts, build productive mentoring relationships, and help them navigate life to unlock their full potential. While experience working with youth or individuals with disabilities is preferred, it is not mandatory. Requirements To be successful in this position, you will need the following: - A full, clean, and current New Zealand driver’s licence - Flexibility to work weekends - Strong relationship-building skills - The ability to work independently while also being part of a broader team - Resilience, perseverance, and a positive attitude - Commitment to engaging in and completing organizational training requirements - Basic computer skills for documenting notes and reports - An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its importance in supporting Maori in Aotearoa/New Zealand - Eligibility to work in New Zealand Please note that Brackenridge requires all employees to be fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19.
