As a registered charity, we offer accommodation and daily living assistance to children, young people, and adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, and complex support needs. About the Role
We are currently seeking Community Support Workers to join our team in providing in-home and community support. This part-time position is based in Ashburton and involves encouraging and empowering individuals to lead meaningful lives. If you have a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities, we would love to hear from you.
In this role, you will assist young people in engaging in healthy activities such as gym workouts, build productive mentoring relationships, and help them navigate life to unlock their full potential. While experience working with youth or individuals with disabilities is preferred, it is not mandatory.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will need the following:
- A full, clean, and current New Zealand driver’s licence
- Flexibility to work weekends
- Strong relationship-building skills
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a broader team
- Resilience, perseverance, and a positive attitude
- Commitment to engaging in and completing organizational training requirements
- Basic computer skills for documenting notes and reports
- An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its importance in supporting Maori in Aotearoa/New Zealand
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
