About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Qualified Drainlayer to join our Civil Construction team located in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the team with various stormwater, wastewater, and water-related projects. Your focus will be on ensuring these projects are completed profitably and efficiently, while adhering to all relevant legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day operations and coordinating the on-site team, managing plant resources, and supervising subcontract personnel. You will ensure that safety, quality, and environmental processes are followed by conducting pre-start meetings and reporting all incidents and near misses. Additionally, you will apply your drainage expertise in trenching, installing manholes, and interpreting construction specifications, while also mentoring others in the team.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of a current class 2 driver’s license with WTR endorsement
- Qualification as a Trade/Certified Drainlayer
- Proven experience in drain laying and a solid understanding of new water connection work
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills, along with high initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Capability to work independently
