Description
About the Company
At NZCL, we are committed to supporting individuals with disabilities across New Zealand. Our Disability Support Services are founded on the belief that everyone deserves to live fully, have equal opportunities, and pursue their ambitions. We strive to create an environment where individuals can develop confidence, acquire new skills, and foster friendships within their communities. Our team is our greatest asset, and we prioritize hiring and training the best talent in the field.
About the Role
We are currently seeking permanent, full-time Support Workers to join our Intensive Support Services team in Kapiti. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting rangatahi and tamariki who access our services, helping them live as independently as possible within their communities.
Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, facilitating community outings, and supporting various aspects of daily living. You will work as part of a dedicated team, covering shifts to ensure 24/7 support for those in our care.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess a genuine desire to support our rangatahi and tamariki in learning new skills and achieving their goals. Ideal applicants will have prior experience assisting others with daily living activities, particularly individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities. Experience working with children or youth is preferred.
A full driver’s license is required, along with the confidence to safely transport passengers in our disability vans (training will be provided). We value individuals who are proactive, energetic, and able to think creatively. Respect for diverse perspectives and lifestyles is essential, as the individuals we support come from various backgrounds with unique needs.
Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends, is necessary. Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are critical qualities for this role.
Benefits
In return for your dedication, we offer competitive pay rates ranging from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour, along with a variety of shift options. You will have the opportunity to earn while you learn, as we provide free training towards NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualifications.
Additionally, our Employee Assistance Program is available for health and wellbeing support whenever you need it. We also offer a ‘Refer a Friend’ bonus and bespoke training tailored to the needs of the rangatahi and young people you will be supporting. Clinical supervision is provided to promote best practices in your work.
If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply.
Please note that all applicants must be New Zealand residents or citizens, or hold a valid New Zealand work permit.
