About the Role We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated Team Leader for our Intensive Support Services in Kapiti, specifically working with youth and young adults. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team to empower individuals to live as independently as possible. Additionally, you will create a safe environment where they can build confidence, foster friendships, and engage with the community. The position requires flexibility, as you will be working a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings throughout the week. What Does the Role Involve? As a Team Leader, your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving independence while also leading and motivating your team. Your daily tasks may include: - Facilitating meaningful activities both at home and in the community that promote independence and involve whānau. - Performing household duties such as meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal care. - Collaborating with your team to implement personal support plans consistently, ensuring effective teamwork and communication. - Providing a warm and nurturing environment that embraces ideas and feedback, supporting each individual in reaching their personal goals. What Are We Looking For? We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications: - Relevant caregiving experience. - Leadership experience is preferred, or a genuine desire to develop your leadership skills. - Ability to adapt your leadership style to accommodate individual learning preferences. - A warm, calm, and friendly disposition, coupled with a passion for supporting individuals to achieve positive outcomes. - A full New Zealand driver's license and the capability to transport passengers safely in our disability vans. - Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are essential, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
