About the Role
We are currently seeking a Pre-Analytical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will primarily focus on the collection of laboratory specimens, specifically phlebotomy. Additionally, you may assist with data entry and specimen preparation for testing.
You will work in a collaborative and supportive setting, contributing to the success of our busy laboratory. This casual position may include weekend shifts. If you believe you would be a great fit for our department, we would be excited to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality and timely service with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in specimen collection and data entry.
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with patients and colleagues.
While registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council is preferred, it is not required as full training will be provided. Experience in healthcare or customer service is advantageous.
About the Team/Service
Our Phlebotomy service is dedicated to maintaining high standards in specimen collection and processing. This includes venepuncture, urine and swab collection, breath testing, and venesection. We support various hospital departments, including NICU and outpatient clinics, and offer training across the region, particularly in infection control practices.
About You
We are looking for individuals who can accurately follow instructions and established procedures. You should be able to understand and respond to patient needs with empathy, maintain a moderate level of fitness for mobility throughout the hospital, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in phlebotomy or healthcare is preferred.
