About the Role
We are currently seeking a Production Assistant to join our team in the Hamilton area. This is a casual position that offers flexible working hours based on business needs, with shifts available during both the day and night. Our operations run seven days a week, with day shifts from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM and night shifts from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM.
As a Production Assistant, you will play a vital role in various aspects of bulk food production within our Central Production Unit. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all tasks are completed in compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, which includes cleaning workbenches, kitchen surfaces, and equipment.
- Assist in preparing and packing food by following recipes and utilizing kitchen equipment as necessary.
- Handle leftover food and packaging, sorting items for collection and washing dishes.
- Deliver food to schools safely and efficiently when required.
- Carry out inventory tasks, including loading and unloading delivery vehicles and assisting with inventory counts.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a team player who can also work independently. We are looking for someone with a flexible attitude and strong communication skills. You should be hardworking, physically fit, and reliable. Proficiency in speaking, understanding, and writing English is essential. Previous experience in a kitchen environment and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment is desirable.
