    Nurse Practitioner Kidz First Emergency Department We are excited to offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health of our community in Counties Manukau. We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner for a permanent, full-time position (1FTE) within our team. Our primary facilities include Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital, and Manukau Health Park. As part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, we play a vital role in the daily operations of the national health system, functioning across local, district, regional, and national levels. We are dedicated to providing excellent healthcare services to the people of New Zealand and strive to maintain a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. The Emergency Department at Middlemore Hospital is one of the busiest in Australasia, providing acute emergency services to approximately 130,000 adult and pediatric presentations annually. Our location serves a culturally diverse, high-need population in a lower socio-economic area, often facing high acuity presentations. About the Role We are in the process of establishing a Nurse Practitioner-run Fast Track Model in our Kidz First Emergency Department and are actively seeking a Nurse Practitioner or a Clinical Nurse Specialist who is working towards becoming a Nurse Practitioner for this exciting initiative. We are looking for a professional who can contribute clinical expertise and leadership within our pediatric and adult areas while engaging in current research activities to enhance point-of-care for patients at risk in acute ward settings. This role will primarily be based in the Kidz First Emergency Department. You will be responsible for initiating and developing innovative problem-solving approaches while leveraging skills from other disciplines and team members to coordinate and resolve issues effectively. The position operates within an interdisciplinary model designed to meet patient requirements, aligning with the vision and values of Counties Manukau Health (CMH). In this role, you will have the autonomy to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient management, showcasing a high level of communication and professionalism. Requirements - Registered with the NZ Nursing Council with a current APC - Currently practicing as a Nurse Practitioner or a Clinical Nurse Specialist working towards Nurse Practitioner status - Minimum of 4 years of recent clinical experience in acute nursing care - Actively pursuing a clinical Master's degree For more information, please contact Nancy at the Recruitment Centre via email at Nancy.Li@middlemore.co.nz.
