We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner for a permanent, full-time position (1FTE) within our team. The Emergency Department at Middlemore Hospital is one of the busiest in Australasia, providing acute emergency services to approximately 130,000 adult and pediatric presentations annually. Our location serves a culturally diverse, high-need population in a lower socio-economic area, often facing high acuity presentations. About the Role We are in the process of establishing a Nurse Practitioner-run Fast Track Model in our Kidz First Emergency Department and are actively seeking a Nurse Practitioner or a Clinical Nurse Specialist who is working towards becoming a Nurse Practitioner for this exciting initiative. We are looking for a professional who can contribute clinical expertise and leadership within our pediatric and adult areas while engaging in current research activities to enhance point-of-care for patients at risk in acute ward settings. This role will primarily be based in the Kidz First Emergency Department. You will be responsible for initiating and developing innovative problem-solving approaches while leveraging skills from other disciplines and team members to coordinate and resolve issues effectively. The position operates within an interdisciplinary model designed to meet patient requirements, aligning with the vision and values of Counties Manukau Health (CMH). In this role, you will have the autonomy to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient management, showcasing a high level of communication and professionalism.
