    About the Company At Health NZ Counties Manukau, we are dedicated to delivering innovative healthcare solutions within the New Zealand Public Health Sector. About the Role We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled Case Loading Midwife to join our team at the Botany Downs Birthing Unit. This full-time, fixed-term position involves managing a caseload of 40 to 50 women annually, providing continuous care throughout the antenatal, labor, birth, and postnatal periods. We seek a midwife who is passionate about supporting women through their maternity journeys while maintaining a high standard of clinical care and collaboration with other healthcare providers. As a Case Loading Midwife, you will be responsible for offering 24/7 support to your clients, including providing telephone advice and in-person assessments for urgent concerns. You will also work closely with secondary services and other health professionals to ensure that your clients have access to necessary care, including obstetric consultations. Key Responsibilities - Provide Continuity of Care: Support women throughout their maternity experience, ensuring they receive care whenever they need it. - Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Partner with DHB secondary services and other healthcare professionals to facilitate access to required care. - Quality Improvement and Risk Management: Lead efforts to identify opportunities for quality improvement and participate in case review meetings and the development of controlled documents. - Professional Development: Commit to ongoing professional development to stay current with midwifery practice, cultural safety, and legal and ethical standards. - Cultural Sensitivity and Diversity: Uphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti O Waitangi, respecting diverse cultural beliefs and practices. - Utilize IT Systems: Effectively use clinical information systems such as i.PM, Clinical Portal, and BadgerNet. Requirements - Current New Zealand Registered Midwife with valid Midwifery Registration. - A minimum of two years of recent midwifery experience in New Zealand post-registration. - A full and clean New Zealand driver's license. - Demonstrated clinical leadership and a commitment to evidence-based practice. - Strong dedication to quality improvement and professional development.
