About the Role
We currently have varied full-time equivalent (FTE) positions available in our Mental Health and Addiction Services. We are seeking doctors who have experience or a keen interest in addictions to join our dedicated team. The successful candidates will collaborate with a team of 12 psychiatrists and receive support from a range of professionals, including nursing staff, counselors, and psychologists within our Addiction service.
Our Taranaki District Mental Health and Addiction Services provide a comprehensive range of specialist services in the Taranaki region, which includes New Plymouth and the surrounding rural areas, including Stratford and Hawera. The services we offer include:
- Acute Services: A 23-bed inpatient unit comprising 15 adult beds, 4 beds for Mental Health Services for Older People, and 4 beds for Intensive Psychiatric Care.
- Assessment and Brief Care: Crisis Team and Co-Response Team.
- Adult Mental Health: Two community teams, maternal mental health services, eating disorder services, and early intervention programs.
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
- Mental Health Services for Older People.
- Addiction Services.
