    About the Company We are Te Whatu Ora-Auckland, a vital part of Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, which serves as the national health service for the country. Our main facilities include Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre, and Starship Children's Hospital, all situated in central Auckland. About the Role Starship Children's Hospital, recognized as the leading tertiary hospital for child health care in Aotearoa, is currently seeking applications from experienced Palliative Care Paediatricians for a casual position. This role presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated and professional Paediatrics team, engaging in a diverse range of practices within a tertiary children's hospital setting. The Starship Palliative Care Service specializes in providing paediatric palliative care to children with serious illness, including life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, along with their whanau across the Northern region, encompassing Te Toka Tumai, Counties Manukau, Waitemata, and Te Tai Tokerau. As a Palliative Care Paediatrician, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing children who are patients within our service. About the Team/Service/Location Located at Starship Hospital in Grafton, our team is comprised of friendly, hard-working, and motivated professionals dedicated to providing expert assessments and interventions for children and adolescents, along with their families and whanau. Our multidisciplinary team includes senior medical officers, nurse specialists, a psychotherapist, a social worker, and administrative support. About You As a qualified Palliative Care Paediatrician, you will hold postgraduate training and experience in Paediatric Palliative Care. You must be eligible for specialist registration in New Zealand as a paediatrician and possess a recognized qualification in paediatrics with a general scope of practice. We seek someone with a strong interest in the holistic and medical management of Paediatric Palliative Care patients. Your ability to work autonomously within a multicultural environment is essential, as is your capacity to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
