About the Role
As a Dental House Officer, you will gain invaluable clinical experience while providing care to both outpatients and inpatients. Your role will involve rotating between the Auckland Regional Hospital Specialist Dentistry service and the Auckland Regional Oral Maxillofacial service, where you will be involved in delivering comprehensive dental and maxillofacial care.
You will receive support from senior clinicians as you engage in a wide range of clinical dentistry, including:
- Management of maxillofacial and dental trauma
- Dental care for medically complex patients
- Paediatric dentistry
- Oral medicine and pathology
- Oral surgery
This diverse range of practical experience will serve as a solid foundation for your future career in private practice or for pursuing specialist study. You will collaborate with other dental house officers and registrars across various hospital facilities in Auckland, including Middlemore, Auckland and Starship Hospitals, Greenlane Clinical Centre, and Buckland Road Dental Centre.
We are currently seeking applications for Dental House Officers starting on January 18, 2026. We welcome applications from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year graduates who are interested in this opportunity.
Requirements

2. Cover Letter
3. Certified/Notarised Documents, including:
- Academic Transcript indicating progress towards a BDS qualification
- Photo ID page of your current passport (and Visa if applicable)
- Current full driver's license (or obtain prior to starting)
- Any post-graduate qualifications
- Current ACLS - NZRC Core Immediate CPR certificate (Level 8 or equivalent), preferably NZRC CORE Advanced (this course can be completed prior to starting if necessary)
If you have lived overseas, you will need to provide police certificates or have initiated the process of obtaining police certificates from all countries of citizenship and any other country in which you have resided for one or more years within the last ten years. Please note that we will request the police certificate from New Zealand.
