About the Role
We are currently seeking Dental House Officers to join our team starting on January 18, 2026. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a busy hospital setting, providing care to both outpatients and inpatients. As a Dental House Officer, you will rotate between the Auckland Regional Hospital Specialist Dentistry service and the Auckland Regional Oral Maxillofacial service, allowing you to experience a diverse range of dental and maxillofacial care.
You will receive mentorship from senior clinicians as you gain exposure to various aspects of clinical dentistry, including:
- Management of maxillofacial and dental trauma
- Dental care for medically complex patients
- Paediatric dentistry
- Oral medicine and pathology
- Oral surgery
This role offers a robust foundation for those interested in private practice dentistry or pursuing specialist studies. You will collaborate with a team of dental house officers and registrars across multiple hospital facilities within Auckland, including Middlemore Hospital, Auckland Hospital, Starship Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre, and Buckland Road Dental Centre.
Requirements
We welcome applications from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year graduates. To ensure a complete application, please upload the following documents:

- Academic Transcript with qualification of BDS in progress
- Photo ID page of current passport (and Visa if applicable)
- Current full driver's license (or obtain prior to starting)
- Any post-graduate qualifications
- Current ACLS - NZRC Core Immediate CPR certificate (Level 8 or equivalent), with preference for NZRC CORE Advanced (you can complete this course prior to starting)
If you have lived overseas, please note that you will need to provide police certificates or have begun the process of requesting these certificates from all countries of citizenship and any other country where you have lived for one or more years in the last ten years (excluding New Zealand, as we will request this).
