About the Role
We are currently looking for a Programme Coordinator to join our team due to an internal promotion. This role is crucial in our mission to build the local labor force and realize the full potential of the Kawerau region for its people.
The Programme Coordinator will lead and deliver the To Ara Mahi Programme, ensuring that the training offered aligns with the goals and expectations of both Rangatahi and employees. This position encompasses project initiatives that support the Kawerau Pathways to Work plan and is guided by our tikanga values. We believe this role will be both rewarding and exciting.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing and coordinating the programme effectively
- Identifying the needs of Rangatahi and providing training support, mentoring, and coaching
- Developing and implementing the To Ara Mahi programme
- Fostering strong networks with hapu, iwi, Rangatahi groups, kura kaupapa Maori, health, and external agencies
- Collaborating with colleagues, local employers, agencies, and community providers
- Completing reporting requirements efficiently
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Experience managing, teaching, and working with Rangatahi
- Understanding of employment pathways programmes
- Strong and effective communication skills
- Previous experience in a similar role within a diverse organization
- Knowledge of TKKH and the Eastern Bay of Plenty communities
- A current valid full driver's license and first aid certificate
- Proven leadership and coaching abilities
- Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills
- Experience in de-escalating conflict situations
- Strong relationship and network management skills
- Organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A tertiary qualification in Youth Work or Social Work is desirable but not essential
- Understanding of tikanga Maori is desirable
