About the Role
We are currently seeking a dynamic Medical Imaging Technologist specializing in MRI, who holds a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) in Diagnostic Imaging. The successful candidate will primarily support the MRI service and general x-ray operations within the Lakes region, specifically at Rotorua Hospital.
Our facility is equipped with a Siemens Magnetom Aera 1.5T MRI system, installed in November 2016, with plans for an upgrade to the XA60 platform and DRB in 2024. The department provides a comprehensive range of head, body, and musculoskeletal MR imaging. Additionally, the General X-Ray Department is well-equipped with a Siemens DR analogue/DR unit, Fluoroscopy, Theatre, GE CT, Siemens MRI, and Ultrasound services. The department features three DR rooms, two DR mobiles, and a Flat Panel C-arm for Theatre. We also offer an in-house Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program, alongside support for external CPD opportunities.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- MRTB registered MRI Scope of Practice
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate for Diagnostic Imaging and MRI
- Ability to work across both the MRI suite and general x-ray
- Willingness to participate in the on-call x-ray roster and Saturday MRI sessions
