About the Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Perfusionist to become part of our main Cardiac Centre in New Zealand. Our Cardiothoracic surgical unit at Auckland City Hospital is recognized as the highest volume unit in Australasia. Additionally, a specialized team of perfusionists provides essential services for the Starship Children's Hospital Cardiac service.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Cardiothoracic Service at Auckland City Hospital is the premier Cardiac Centre in New Zealand, offering a comprehensive range of cardiac surgeries for ischemic and rheumatic heart disease, aortic surgeries, and heart, lung, and liver transplantation. Our adult caseload averages approximately 1,200 procedures annually. We also serve as the national ECMO center and have a dedicated retrieval service.

About You
We are seeking candidates who meet the following requirements:
- A Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s in Perfusion and certification from the Australasian Board of Perfusion (or from the American, UK, or European Boards of Perfusion)
- Familiarity with Stockert S5 heart-lung machines is desirable, while experience with Stockert Connect is preferred
- Previous experience as a Perfusionist
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
