About the Company Tradestaff Global is currently seeking expressions of interest from skilled tradespeople to join us at McMurdo Station in Antarctica for the upcoming Summer season, which runs from October 2025 to March 2026. About the Role We are looking for dedicated professionals who are ready to embrace the challenges of working in a remote environment. Successful candidates will be part of a large commercial construction project and will need to be adaptable team players. The roles available include: - Interior Finishing Carpenters (Trade Qualified) - Ceilings and Interior Fitout Builders (Trade Qualified) - Tile Installers - Plasterers / Drywall Installers - Painters (Trade Qualified) Positions require hard work and collaboration, so a strong work ethic and a willingness to assist team members are essential. Requirements Please note that due to travel restrictions, only New Zealand and US citizens with New Zealand or US passports who are currently living and working in New Zealand are eligible to apply. Key requirements for applicants include: - Willingness to receive Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations - Availability for extended periods on-site; these roles do not follow a fly-in fly-out schedule - Ability to work long hours, six days a week - Completion of medical and dental checks, security clearance, and a pre-employment drug and alcohol test - A Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record - Patience during a lengthy application process - Preparedness to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams, with travel expenses covered for those coming from outside the Bay of Plenty Benefits We offer a competitive remuneration package, which includes: - Flights provided from any major airport in New Zealand - Food, shared accommodation, and travel insurance - A pay rate of $66.11 per hour on a contract basis, with payments made fortnightly in NZ dollars for 54 hours of work per week - All necessary personal protective equipment supplied While this role is demanding, it also provides the chance to save money, gain invaluable experience, and build lasting friendships.
