Container Hoist Operator - Night Shift

About the Role We are excited to invite a skilled Container Hoist Operator to join our high-performing team at our busy Auckland Depot. Please note that this position does not involve truck driving. We are looking for a team player who is eager to enhance their hoist operating skills while working with our 50-tonne container handlers. Previous experience as a container hoist operator is preferred but not mandatory; however, candidates must be confident in operating heavy machinery. Position: Container Hoist Operator - Night Shift Location: Otahuhu/Onehunga, Auckland Hours: Monday to Friday, 6 PM – 4 AM (additional hours available for those interested) Employment Type: Full-time, permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 50 hours. What You Will Do In this role, you will be responsible for essential ground functions such as: - Moving containers around the yard as needed - Communicating effectively using RT communication - Operating a single or double stacker container hoist to assist with container stacking, achieving heights of up to eight containers (maximum rated capacity: 45,000 kg) - Loading and unloading trucks and work areas as required - Adhering to all health and safety procedures at all times What We Need To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following attributes: - Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic - Full NZ Class 1 License (essential) - Class 2 License (preferred but not essential) - Experience in driving heavy vehicles and operating heavy machinery (essential) - A demonstrated focus on Zero Harm and safety in the workplace - Flexibility and adaptability to work across different company sites as required (essential) - Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others - Clear communication skills, particularly with RT communication Please note that a Container Hoist differs from standard hoists or forklifts.
