About the Role
We are currently seeking part-time Support Workers for our Whanau Support Services in Kapiti. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance to individuals in their homes and communities, helping them lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. Your support will empower them to pursue their personal dreams and goals through various activities, such as swimming, attending sporting events, engaging in arts and crafts, going to the movies, or shopping—essentially, whatever they wish to do.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and who possess kindness and understanding. While previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, especially working with youth, it is not mandatory.
Key qualifications include:
- A full driver's license and access to your own vehicle
- A genuine desire to support individuals in learning new skills and achieving their goals
- An energetic, outgoing personality with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
- Respect for diverse perspectives and lifestyles, as the individuals we support come from a variety of backgrounds with different needs and interests
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are essential in this role
