About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our Medical Progressive Care team at Christchurch Hospital. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our clinical staff. Your responsibilities will vary daily based on the needs of the ward, making each day unique. Your key responsibilities will include: - Assisting nursing staff with personal care, including showering, feeding, and mobility support - Cleaning and maintaining the ward environment - Stocking supplies to ensure the ward is well-equipped - Providing close observation support for patients - Ensuring the smooth operation of the ward to maintain the highest standards of care About the Service The Medical Progressive Care unit consists of 14 beds and specializes in managing patients with acute medical conditions. About You We are looking for someone who possesses: - Strong customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team - Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and nights - Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn - Attention to detail and the capacity to connect with patients and their families - Initiative and problem-solving abilities - A passion for helping patients achieve optimal health outcomes While previous healthcare experience is desirable, it is not essential for this role.
