About the Role
Have you considered working in a commercial kitchen? We invite you to join our dedicated and hardworking WellFood Department, where you will play a vital role in feeding our patients (turoro) and their families (whanau).
As part of our retail cookery team, you will ensure that the needs of our patients are met to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include following standardized recipes and using your creative flair to present food we can all be proud of. You will also maintain and adhere to our Food Control Plan, the Te Whatu Ora code of conduct, and Health and Safety procedures.
The starting salary for this position is $28.40 per hour, in accordance with the E tu Service and Food Workers collective agreement.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Performing general cooking and kitchen duties
- Working within the retail cookery team to provide food for the Burwood campus cafes
- Engaging in hot and cold cookery, baking, and function catering
- Adhering to the food control plan
- Carrying out general cleaning duties
About You
We are looking for individuals with exceptional skills and a passion for large-scale cookery. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to maintain speed without compromising quality. You should be a fast learner who can quickly pick up new skills, and previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.
